AWS PE houses approximately 200 animals at any given time and we never turn any animals away. We receive no assistance from the government and rely purely on the support of the public to keep our shelter running.

The Sponsor a Kennel programme enables you to help care for the animals living in our shelter! By sponsoring a dog kennel or cat pen you help us give unwanted pets the love and care they deserve while they wait for a permanent home. Your monthly monetary gift will help us provide food, shelter and veterinary care for the homeless cats and dogs we look after.

As a Sponsor a Kennel patron, you will:
- Automatically become a member of The Animal Welfare Society Port Elizabeth and receive our quarterly newsletter
- Receive quarterly feedback on the cat/dog who live in your sponsored kennel/pen
- Have your name or your company name displayed on the kennel or pen during your sponsored period

Corporate sponsors can display an advertising board (approximately A2 size) on their sponsored kennel/pen with their company logo or receive a Section 18A Tax Certificate. Individuals who sponsor a kennel/pen may also request a Section 18A Tax Certificate.

Advertising boards can be supplied by AWS PE or by the companies involved after approval by AWS PE

Sponsor a Kennel patrons are requested to commit to sponsorship of at least 12 months. This can be done with monthly payments (debit order or scheduled EFT's) or a once off payment.

For as little as R250 per month you can sponsor a kennel and share your love with a special dog or cat. Your support will provide food, shelter and primary health care for your animal for an entire month. That’s sometimes less than what you spend on groceries at the supermarket! And if the animal in your kennel is adopted or re-homed, your sponsorship will continue to feed the next animal in the kennel.
